DSP  CAS IIA portable, self-contained state-of-the-art combustion analysis system

RedLine CAS II is the newest addition to our line of combustion analysis products. With all of the features of the original RedLine system, RedLine CAS II has the added benefit of portability, making it ideally suited for both in-vehicle and test cell applications.
For in-vehicle applications, clearly labeled BNC connectors are mounted to the top of the cabinet, allowing for easy connection to engine sensors. A built-in 12VCD power supply eliminates the need for special power inverters. Using an optional mounting bracket the system can be secured to the floor, or even strapped in with the seat belt.
The portability of the RedLine CAS II is also useful in test cell applications where combustion analysis is shared among several test cells. The convenient cable connections and compact size make moving the system from test cell to another a quick and simple task.

Real-Time Data Acquisition with True Real-time Combustion Analysis

Whether the job is complete engine design or the need to reduce emissions or improve fuel economy of an existing power plant, sophisticated real-time combustion analysis is one of the development engineer's most valuable tools. The A&D Technology CAS system is the only full real-time combustion analysis system on the market. The CAS system's high-speed data acquisition and parallel processing architecture provides true cycle-by-cycle combustion metrics for instantaneous feedback on changes to combustion phasing. Real-time performance is critical to the successful implementation of automated mapping processes, which typically use combustion parameters such as knock, CA50 or IMEP for closed loop control.

Based on Windows XP or 2000, the CAS system software provides the user interface for configuring the data acquisition system and presenting the test results in a graphical format.

  • Calculates mean effective pressure cycle by cycle for each of up to 12 cylinders
  • Real-time knock analysis for up to 8 cylinders
  • Mass fraction burn and heat-release calculations for every cycle
  • O'scope toolbar for performing analysis on the fly
  • Flexible o'scope displays pressure trace, injector signals and spark signals
  • All system aspects are configured using the familiar Windows drop-down menus

Includes DSP Plot, a powerful and versatile data review and analysis package for analyzing test results

What does real-time combustion analysis mean?

Why is real-time important?

  • Continuous cycle to cycle calculation of over 3500 combustion parameters
  • Instantaneous feedback of combustion phasing changes
  • Real-time statistics including: min, max, mean, coefficient of variance
  • Essential when using combustion data for closed loop control
  • Makes automated mapping possible

High performance, High value

The CAS system's high-performance doesn't mean high-priced. CAS comes standard with essential functions such as time-based acquisition, knock analysis, post processing, offline data analysis and many other options that cost extra on other systems. It doesn't matter whether you use the full-sized RedLine or opt for the portable RedLine CAS II or BaseLine CAS systems the same software runs on all of them. When compared to other combustion analysis system CAS offers extremely high value.
