Low viscosity measurement
( SV-10 ) |
SV-10 measures low viscosity from 0.3mPa.s to 10,000mPa.s without any change of sensor plates, so it is simple and easy to use. |
Wide measurement range |
Without any change of sensor plates, SV-10 can measure viscosity from 0.3 - 10,000mPa.s and SV-100 from 1,000 - 100,000mPa.s, so it is useful for applications measuring from low viscosity to high viscosity. |

WinCT-Viscosity |
RSVisco is software to convert measurement data of viscosity and temperature from SV series into a graphic display for easy understanding and analysis. Data is saved as " CSV " file so it is easy to send the measurement data by e-mail. |
Real time measurement |
Viscosity and temperature measurement is displayed on a real time basis after 15 seconds by pressing "START", so it is useful for measuring the change of viscosity and temperature of the sample properties throughout the measurement. |
Flowing sample measurement |
Rotational viscometer cannot measure viscosity when sample fluid is flowing, but SV series can, making it ideal for measuring viscosity when user stirs to mix or spread fluids or temperature. The overflow application for viscosity measurement in process is good for controlling the quality of the viscosity measurement. |
Foaming sample measurement |
Due to small amplitude of sensor plates, SV series does not deform the sample fluid, so it is ideal for measuring the viscosity of sample fluid with some bubbles in it. |
Sol and gel measurement |

Non-Newtonian sample measurement |
Non-Newtonian fluid has the property of changing its viscosity when shear stress is applied. In such a case, a rotational viscometer may have a different viscosity measurement result when spinning speed of spindle is changed as the shear-thinning (pseudoplastic liquids) becomes less viscous at higher shear rates (spinning speed in rpm) and as shear-thickening (dilant liquids) become more viscous at higher shear rates. This is because the structure of sample fluid is destroyed by the rotating spindle. But the SV series vibrates the sensor plates with 30Hz of resonant frequency with small amplitude so as not to destroy much of the structure of the sample fluid. This measures the viscosity of Non-Newtonian sample fluids in a short time. |
Continuous measurement |
Even though viscosity changes from low to high viscosity or high to low viscosity, SV series has a wide viscosity measurement range even without changing the sensor plates, so it is ideal for measuring changes in property of sample fluids as viscosity as well as temperature changes over a long time. This is especially useful in applications involving brewing, distilling and fermenting processes, etc. Also, WinCT-Viscosity software is useful for automatic data acquisition applications for continuous measurement. |
High viscosity measurement
