This is a Universal Engine Controller which possesses basic functions as a vehicle Engine Control Module (ECM) and enables the operation of the engine without real EMC. In regard to the engine controls, each manufacturer has own and unique way of developing its strategy and ideas are evolving almost every day. This equipment is loaded with very basic functions which are required to run the engine, but additional/more advanced control strategies can be added by integrating with MATLAB/Simulink models.

- For gasoline engines, Ignition control based on crank angle, Timing control for the fuel injection valves, Throttle opening control and Necessary I/O signal processing for the above. For diesel engines, based on crank angle, Timing control for the fuel injection valves (multi-stage), Common rail pressure control and Necessary I/O signal processing for the above.

Example : Universal ECU for Gasoline EngineAn example shown below is a Universal ECU configured with minimum necessary functions for the gasoline engine.This can be utilized for the initial stage of ECU development or the improvement process, and can be applied for both Full-pass and Bypass modes of development.Detailed discussions are required to clarify the conditions for I/Ointer-facing, such as signal levels, timing, connector assignment and etc.
